The Block Australia 2026 in New Zealand: Air Date, Channel and Where to Stream

The Block Australia 2026 has no New Zealand channel or start date yet, but the last two seasons went to Three, streamed free on ThreeNow and started here 14 and 21 days after Australia's grand final. As of Friday 25 September, Sky, Three and ThreeNow haven't named a 2026 date, so the New Zealand premiere is not yet confirmed.

Australia is well into Season 22 already. Nine began it on Sunday 2 August, and this is the Mt Eliza season, built on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula.

When does The Block Australia 2026 start in NZ?

Last NZ slot we can confirm: Sundays at 7.30pm on Three, with ThreeNow the same day (2024). For 2026 there's no date yet.

Two years of history give a rough guide. In 2024, Three's own release put the Season 20 premiere on Sunday 24 November at 7.30pm, with episodes Sunday to Wednesday every week. For 2025, ThreeNow's episode list dates Season 21's first episode to Sunday 16 November and its 50th and last to Sunday 8 February 2026.

Both starts landed in the second half of November. A late-November start in 2026 would fit that pattern, but it's a pattern and nothing more until Sky or Three puts a date on it.

How far behind Australia is New Zealand?

Roughly three and a half months, premiere to premiere. By our count New Zealand's first episode came 104 days after Australia's in 2024 and 112 days after it in 2025.

The gap after Australia's final tells you more. It was 14 days in 2024 and 21 days in 2025, so every room reveal and every auction had been shown across the Tasman before episode one aired here. Kiwi viewers still got the whole run: ThreeNow lists all 52 episodes of Season 20 and all 50 of Season 21, the same counts TVmaze gives for Nine's broadcasts.

Nine hasn't put its 2026 final in the listings yet, and TVmaze has episodes scheduled only as far as Sunday 4 October. Its last two seasons each ran about 13 weeks from premiere to auction night. On that basis we'd expect Australia to finish around the start of November, but that's our estimate, not Nine's.

Which channel will have The Block Australia in New Zealand?

On past form it would be Three, though that's not yet confirmed either. Ownership changed in the middle of last year's cycle: Sky took over Three and ThreeNow on 1 August 2025, and ThreeNow is now run by Sky Free Limited.

That sale didn't stop Season 21 arriving on Three in November 2025, three and a half months later. Season 22 is Sky's decision, and the first line of this page will change on the day a date is announced.

Is The Block Australia free to stream in NZ?

Yes, whenever it's on ThreeNow. The service calls itself ad-supported and free, and in 2024 the broadcaster said each episode would go up there on the day Three aired it.

Older seasons are still up, for now. ThreeNow's listing gives Season 20, the 2024 Phillip Island build, an expiry date of 31 October 2026. Season 21, set in Daylesford, is listed until October 2027. Anyone wanting the Phillip Island houses has about five weeks left.

What time is The Block on in Australia, in NZ time?

Nine shows reveal episodes at 7pm on Sundays and build episodes at 7.30pm on weeknights in Sydney. Converting that is fiddly this week, because New Zealand's daylight saving starts on Sunday 27 September while New South Wales waits until Sunday 4 October.

We worked those out from the two time zones. They're the hours when Australian reaction starts filling social feeds, so if you're saving it for the New Zealand run, that's when to look away.
