Taskmaster NZ Winners: Every Champion Since 2020, and When Season 7 Ends
Six comedians have won Taskmaster NZ so far: Angella Dravid, Laura Daniel, Josh Thomson, Melanie Bracewell, Hayley Sproull and Jackie van Beek, one for each season since 2020. Season 7's champion will be decided in the final on Tuesday 13 October on TVNZ 2 and TVNZ+.
Don't expect a cheque. What TVNZ's own show page promises the winner is a gold statue of host Jeremy Wells' head, plus the Taskmaster's respect.
When is the Taskmaster NZ Season 7 final?
7.30pm on Tuesday 13 October, TVNZ 2 and TVNZ+. TVNZ lists new episodes on Mondays and Tuesdays at 7.30pm, and the final is episode 10 of 10.
Four episodes have gone out since the premiere on Monday 14 September. What's left, going by TVmaze's episode list:
- Monday 28 September: episode 5
- Tuesday 29 September: episode 6
- Monday 5 and Tuesday 6 October: episodes 7 and 8
- Monday 12 October: episode 9
- Tuesday 13 October: episode 10, the final
This year's five are Dave Fane, Hoani Hotene, Morgana O'Reilly, Rhys Mathewson and Rose Matafeo. In team tasks it's Hotene, O'Reilly and Mathewson against the pair of Fane and Matafeo. Wikipedia notes that some tasks this season were filmed on location at MOTAT, Auckland's Museum of Transport and Technology.

Nobody has won twice, since every season brings in five new contestants. The runner-up column is just as familiar to local comedy fans, running from Madeleine Sami in 2020 to Jack Ansett last year.
How long does a Taskmaster NZ season run?
Ten episodes, every single time. The pace is what changed. Seasons 1 to 3 went out once a week on Wednesdays, so each took 63 days from premiere to final.
From Season 4 in 2023, TVNZ 2 switched to two episodes a week, and every season since has taken exactly 29 days, this one included. The wait between seasons stretched instead: Season 6 finished on Tuesday 16 September 2025 and Season 7 began 363 days later. Apart from the first season, which premiered in October 2020, no season has started later in the year.
Where can I rewatch old seasons of Taskmaster NZ?
TVNZ+, free. TVNZ's show page lists all seven seasons, and TVNZ bills TVNZ+ as a place to watch shows and live TV online for free. New Season 7 episodes are due there on the same Monday and Tuesday nights they air.
A full binge is 70 episodes. Seasons 1 to 3 come from the slower weekly years; Seasons 4 to 6 were the two-nights-a-week runs.
Who is the Taskmaster in New Zealand?
Jeremy Wells, with Paul Williams as his assistant, and they've held those jobs since 2020. British comedian Alex Horne created the format, and TVNZ credits NZ On Air's support for the local version.
