What's New on Disney+ NZ in October 2026: VisionQuest, Coven Academy and Scrubs
Disney+ in New Zealand has one big October date: Marvel's VisionQuest on Wednesday 14 October. Before it, Scrubs Season 2 arrives on Thursday 1 October, the witch drama Coven Academy on Friday 2 October, and The Kardashians Season 8 plus the Korean-Japanese romcom Merry Berry Love on Thursday 8 October.
We checked every date below against the title's own Disney+ New Zealand page on Friday 25 September. That matters, because Disney's American schedule doesn't carry over neatly. One show on the US list for early October has no New Zealand page at all, and Merry Berry Love lands here a day after its Japanese TV premiere. Where a title's NZ status is still unclear, we've said so rather than guessed.
Disney+ doesn't publish New Zealand release times on those pages, only dates, so this list doesn't give times either. Plans start at NZ$9.99 a month with ads, as listed on Disney+'s New Zealand site.

VisionQuest (Disney+, 14 October)
Paul Bettany is back as Vision, the android who died in Avengers: Infinity War and came back white-skinned and memory-less at the end of WandaVision. This time he's in hiding, and he's lived as a human working in a pub for years, according to Wikipedia's summary of set reports. A bounty on his head sends him on the run with Thomas Shepherd (Ruaridh Mollica), a teenager who may be his reincarnated son.
James Spader returns as Ultron, now living inside Vision's head as one of several AI personas, and Todd Stashwick plays Paladin, the bounty hunter on his trail. Terry Matalas, known for 12 Monkeys and Star Trek: Picard, is showrunner. It's been described as the last part of a trilogy that started with WandaVision in 2021 and carried on through Agatha All Along in 2024.
It's eight episodes. TVmaze lists them weekly on Wednesdays through to 2 December, so this one's a slow burn rather than a weekend binge.
Coven Academy (Disney+, 2 October)
Tim Federle, who made High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, created this supernatural comedy-drama. A New York teenager, Briar Roberts, turns up at a school for magic in New Orleans, trying to find out what happened to her mother while witches and vampires fight around her. Malina Weissman plays Briar and Tiffani Thiessen heads the adult cast.
Disney's schedule marks it as all episodes at once, and TVmaze counts 10. The timing suits the season: in the US it also airs on Freeform the night before, as part of its 31 Nights of Halloween.
Scrubs Season 2 (Disney+, 1 October)
The revival's first season, nine episodes from February to April, brought back Zach Braff as J.D., with Donald Faison as Turk and Sarah Chalke as Elliot. J.D. is now Sacred Heart's chief of medicine. John C. McGinley and Judy Reyes drop in as Dr Cox and Carla.
Season 2 starts on ABC in the US on 30 September and shows up here the following day. TVmaze has 10 episodes going out weekly until late November.
Reasonable Doubt Season 4 (Disney+, 6 October)
Emayatzy Corinealdi plays Jax Stewart, a Los Angeles defence lawyer whose ethics are flexible and whose courtroom nerve isn't. The new season picks up after an attack on Jax's family and her newly founded firm. In the US it opens with three episodes and runs weekly to Tuesday 24 November. Disney hasn't said whether New Zealand gets the same three-episode start, but the NZ page does list 6 October.
The Kardashians Season 8 (Disney+, 8 October)
Kris, Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, Kendall and Kylie are back for another 10 episodes. It's weekly, not a binge: TVmaze runs the season through to Thursday 10 December. Seven earlier seasons are already on the service if you're behind.
Merry Berry Love (Disney+, 8 October)
Ji Chang-wook plays Lee Yubin, a star Korean spatial designer who loses everything and ends up on a Japanese island, where he meets Karin (Mio Imada), a strawberry farmer. It's a CJ ENM and Nippon TV co-production, with 12 episodes listed on TVmaze. Nippon TV premieres it on 7 October, and Disney+'s New Zealand page has it arriving here on the 8th.
Vampirina: Teenage Vampire Season 2 (Disney+, 7 October)
For younger viewers, Kenzi Richardson returns as Vee, the vampire at a performing arts boarding school. Disney's US schedule releases the whole season at once, and Season 1 is already streaming here.

KATSEYE: Wild Hearts (Disney+, 16 October)
October's one new film is a documentary about KATSEYE, the global girl group formed through HYBE and Geffen's Dream Academy competition. Nadia Hallgren directed it, and Disney says it mixes unseen footage, fan videos and interviews with the members. It had a short cinema run first.
Disney's announcement says it streams on Disney+ outside the US from 16 October. We couldn't find its New Zealand title page yet, so treat the local date as Disney's word rather than a confirmed NZ listing.
Still catching up: Toy Story 5
If the month feels light on films, it's because the big one came early. Disney+'s New Zealand site has Toy Story 5 streaming now, which makes it an easy pick for a wet spring weekend with the kids.

Not on the NZ list yet
Adventure Time: Side Quests Season 2 is on Disney+ in the US from 2 October, but Disney+'s New Zealand site has no page for the show, so there's no sign it's coming here on Disney+.
Three US October returns are listed in New Zealand without a new-season date. Abbott Elementary shows five seasons on its NZ page, with Season 6 not yet confirmed here. The Lowdown Season 2 (Ethan Hawke) and Grey's Anatomy Season 23 are in the same position. We'll add them if Disney+ NZ dates them.
One date has already passed. American Horror Story Season 13 is listed for Friday 25 September on its New Zealand page, so it's already here.
