The Chase UK in New Zealand: What Time It's On TVNZ 1 and Where to Stream
The Chase UK screens in New Zealand on TVNZ 1 late in the afternoon, with a second episode on weekday mornings, and episodes stream free on TVNZ+. The afternoon episode is in the guide at 5pm on Sunday 11 October, but not on Sunday 18 October, when rugby takes over the slot. TVNZ doesn't publish how far its episodes sit behind ITV's UK broadcast.
What time is The Chase on in New Zealand?
5pm on TVNZ 1, running for an hour up to 1News at Six. On weekdays there's an earlier episode at 11am as well, so Monday to Friday you get two hours of it.

The guide we read on Tuesday 20 October, open to Tuesday 27 October, has the same pattern. TVNZ 1 lists The Chase at 5pm every day, Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October included, and an earlier episode on the other weekdays: 11am from Tuesday 20 to Friday 23 October and Tuesday 27 October, and 10.55am on Monday 26 October, which is Labour Day. The Chase Australia is on Duke at 1.45pm on the weekdays, Monday 26 October included.

Why isn't The Chase on TVNZ 1 on Sunday 11 October?
It's on after all. When we first read the Freeview guide on Monday 5 October, TVNZ 1 had NPC Rugby, listed as Quarter Final 4, from 3pm to 5.30pm on Sunday 11 October and no episode of The Chase. The guide we re-read on Sunday 11 October has the rugby, Canterbury v Waikato, from 1.30pm to 4pm, then The Great Escapers at 4pm and The Chase at 5pm.
Saturday 10 October has a quarter-final too, listed from 2pm to 4.30pm, but that one finishes before the quiz. The guide still shows The Chase at 5pm that day, after Border Patrol at 4.30pm.
Those are guide times. Live sport can run long, and a late finish can push back whatever follows it.
The Sunday without it is 18 October. The guide read on Sunday 11 October has NPC Rugby, listed as Semi Final 2, on TVNZ 1 from 3.30pm to 6pm that day, and no episode of The Chase on the channel. Saturday 17 October still has the quiz at 5pm.
Where can I stream The Chase UK in New Zealand?
TVNZ+ is the only place. Its show page says: “Episodes available daily. Evening episodes under Season 2026, weekday morning episodes under Season 12.” That tells you where to look after a missed episode: the 5pm screenings sit in the Season 2026 folder, the 11am ones in Season 12.
The page listed 14 episodes across those two folders on Monday 5 October. It's a short catch-up shelf, not a full archive, so don't expect years of back episodes.

Is the 5pm episode of The Chase new?
Neither TVNZ nor the Freeview guide says. Both carry the same general blurb for every screening, with no episode number and no “new” flag, so we can't tell you which screenings are first runs.
The same goes for the gap to Britain. ITV makes the show and airs it first, and TVNZ doesn't state how long an episode takes to reach New Zealand. We'd rather leave that blank than guess at a number.
Is The Chase Australia on in New Zealand too?
Yes, on a different channel. The Freeview guide lists The Chase Australia on Duke at 1.45pm every weekday from Monday 5 October to Friday 9 October, and again on Monday 12 October. The guide describes it as the Australian version of the game show.
So if the faces at the desk look unfamiliar, check the channel. TVNZ 1 at 5pm is the British show; Duke in the early afternoon is the Australian one. Our sister site has how The Chase Australia airs on Seven at home, which is the schedule Australians see, not the Duke one.
What about The Chase New Zealand?
That was a short local run, and it's separate from the daily British show. The Chase New Zealand was a four-part series on TVNZ 1 in November 2025, hosted by Paul Henry. 1News reported that 1.29 million people watched its final episode, with 154,000 accounts streaming the series on TVNZ+.
TVNZ+ still lists the four episodes. TVNZ's page for the show makes no mention of a second series. Beat the Chasers, the spin-off hosted by Bradley Walsh, has its own TVNZ+ page as well.

Who hosts The Chase UK, and who are the chasers?
Bradley Walsh hosts. Per Wikipedia's entry for the programme, there are six chasers as of 2026: Mark Labbett, Shaun Wallace, Anne Hegerty, Paul Sinha, Jenny Ryan and Darragh Ennis. Only one of them plays in a standard episode.

The Freeview guide says yes. Labour Day is Monday 26 October, and the guide we read on Tuesday 20 October lists The Chase on TVNZ 1 at 10.55am and 5pm that day. Live sport can still move a listing, and on Labour Day the guide has NPC Rugby’s Grand Final on TVNZ 1 from 1.30pm to 4.30pm, ahead of the 5pm slot.
